EALTHY is the global association for the teaching of English for Healthcare, providing professional development, training and services to teachers, researchers, and educational institutions around the world.
As part of this, the association organises webinars, materials, teaching resources and networking opportunities for members.
JAGELLONIAN UNIVERSITY AND MEDICAL COLLEGE
The Jagiellonian University Medical College Language Centre, established in 1950, is an interdepartmental unit of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków. It offers courses for students and academic staff of the three faculties within the Jagiellonian University Medical College: the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Health Sciences. The courses are specifically designed for future healthcare professionals, with a particular emphasis on learning a specialised language relevant to students' profiles and fields of study. Each year, the Language Centre conducts classes in four modern languages for approximately 3,500 students, including those on PhD programmes.
The Language Centre's senior staff members are authors of numerous publications related to teaching Medical English and are dedicated to creating original materials and programmes to meet students’ needs. The Language Centre also initiates and participates in international projects such as sTANDEM, ESP-t, TESPIS, and IMETS.
